JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
The final chapter of the original Jojo saga is far from perfect, but still pretty good.

Part 6 of Jojo is the culmination of everything Araki learned. That's not to say he's perfect, because no one is, and this isn't even really the best part so far. However, you see Araki begin to enter his magnum opus. This is the most serious Jojo part so far, sans Phantom Blood. Araki understands that people care for this series, despite how bizarre it is.

Stone Ocean has some great characters. Jolyne is one of the best Jojos, and Foo Fighters is one if the best Jobros. Annusui and Emporio are well established and fun characters. Jotaro is even more interesting than before, and Pucci is a great villain with interesting motivation. Unfortunately, Weather Report and especially Hermes lack real character. They have motivations and interesting backstories, but I feel like Hermes has little going on after a certain arc, and Weather Report needed a more balanced development to be great.

In some ways, Stone Ocean is a second Stardust Crusaders. I personally don't like Stardust Crusaders, so the question was 'does Stone Ocean avoid the pitfalls of Stardust Crusaders?' Well, not entirely. As I said, some characters could've been better, and the pacing can sometimes be even worse than part 3. It doesn't help when even the superficial progress of a road trip is replaced with a static prison. It's a bit disappointing, considering how excellent Golden wind was in this regard. Don't worry though, there are some great fights and stands here. Jolyne in particular has such a simple stand that is used in great ways, and it has sunglasses, so it's definitely one of my favorite stands. There are some extremely confusing concepts though, and this part is infamous for having the most confusing stands in the series. Speaking of such, there are still some small plotholes and contrivances, but personally they never affected my enjoyment. Another thing is that I wish at least one of the other Jojos showed up here, preferrably Giorno, considering events that go on later. I'm not sure if he still has requiem, but regardless.

I don't like to go into spoilers usually, but these next two paragraphs will spoil the ending, so skip to the last paragraph. ...Ok, so the interesting thing about Stone Ocean is that for a moment, Pucci wins. He creates a universe where everyone knows their own destiny, which is a surprisingly terrifying idea. Not just because of the horror it could bring, but because, well, I understand why he'd want such a world. After everything that happened to him, I might want a world where I knew exactly what would happen too. But, if you're reading this paragraph after finishing part 6, you know why he's wrong in the end. You wanted to see Jonathan beat Dio, for Joseph to find honor, and for Jotaro to save his Mom. You loved seeing Josuke grow, or seeing Giorno bring Justice, and you hope that Jolyne will save the world. However, if you're like me, you didn't just skip to part 6 and read a summary of the previous 5 parts. Reading these stories, never knowing the future of these characters, and going on these Bizarre Adventures is half the fun. And as unhappy as life can be sometimes, that's true for me too.

Emporio defeats Pucci, and one of the best endings in manga happens. We see our favorite characters in a new universe, with new names and new lives. Pucci is erased from existence, and these familiar faces drive off. It might seem sad at first, but then you realize something. This is probably the happiest ending the Joestars could've had. I'm not sure exactly how things are for the Joestars in this universe, but they seem pretty content. Maybe they won't have to fight Dio for eternity. They can just be happy, and just like how they don't know their own future, we don't know theirs either. We'll never go on anymore Bizarre Adventures, in this world, but maybe things are better this way.

Um... The art's great btw.

Stone Ocean isn't as good as part 4 in my opinion, but I might like it more. It's a celebration of a series that I grew to love, despite the flaws. I'm not sure whether I should give it a 7 or 8, but I'll be generous for now. I absolutely recommend that you read Stone Ocean. It's okay if you don't like it, but you'll never know if you skip to Steel Ball Run. I can't wait for the anime adaptation.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Stone ocean review (no spoilers)

I cannot begin to explain my love for JoJo i could rant about it for hours, its
always been my favourite anime from its ridiculous and bizarre plot lines to its deep and compelling characters and villains theres something for everyone. I been especially impressed over how much JoJo has improved from part 1 and Araki as an author has only upped everything that makes JoJo great to a colossal scale and as the parts go on its only been getting better and my love for it increases. (especially in recent parts) there's something about it that's so special to me its vibe and style never ceases to amaze me and leave me in awe encouraging me to keep reading/watching, and this is exactly what part 6 did for me. after finishing part 5 i was left with an empty feeling in my heart i needed to satisfy my love for JoJo as someone who doesn't read a lot of manga this was a daunting task, 158 chapters is a lot and i was worried i couldn't appreciate it like i do with the anime but I'm so glad i was wrong.

Story 8/10

The story of part 6 starts of very basic we are introduced to the new JoJo, Jolyne daughter of Jotoro Kujo, we see her in the midst of an unfortunate event which wasn't her fault which causes her to be sentenced to 15 years in prison little does she Know this prison will be the catalyst for the events of the story to completely spiral out of control in bizarre and unexpected ways that leaves you on the edge of your seat. This part is easily the most bizzare part of jojo thus far the situations that Jolyne and the cast has to deal with is ridiculous due to the main antagonist. The climax of the story is both extremely sad and exciting, I'm not quite sure why people hate on the ending i think its due to people not understanding it but i will say this in order to appreciate it you will have to go into this part with an empty mind don't be influenced by what people are saying weather its good or bad. However it goes without saying some parts of the story are kind of unnecessarily complicated and don't make any sense *cough* *cough* dragons dream, but despite this its overall enjoyment completely makes up for this.

Art 9/10

The art of jojo goes without saying is fantastic, Araki has truely mastered the art of drawing characters emotions are displayed clearly and with passion and the way Araki conveys certain messages through his art is done like no other author

Characters

10/10

In my opinion JoJo part 6 has some of favourite cast of characters out of any of the previous parts and that's saying something coming straight after part 5. Each character has there own motivations and quirks that make them laughable/interesting and all have very bad-ass powerful moments. Of course Jolyne is simply incredible the fact that she is a girl JoJo is a breath of fresh air and her personality reflects this well, the raw motivation she has in this part outshines anyone that steps in her way and the way she deals with various stand users throughout the part is both satisfying and cool at the same time, her stand stone free is also amazing to me i wont spoil what it does but the way she uses her stand over the course of this part is laughably creative and genius due to her stand doing something specific she is forced to get creative, in my opinion she uses her stand in the most creative ways out of any of the JoJo's and the way its dealt with is mystifying. Weather report is also an incredible charter as well as hermes im not going to say too much about them for spoiler reasons but they are both interesting and there stands have crazy uses. I could also rant about foo fighters for hours but i will keep it brief, foo fighters unrioncially inspired to do better in my life which was really cool. However anasui is simply annoying and is a really bland character. The main villain of the part is a persistent bastard but honestly i liked him for the most part he had a tragic backstory which was quite deep and his motivation for being a villain was also like nothing we have seen so overall i would say hes a pretty good villain

Enjoyment 9/10

I highly recommend anyone who is a fan of jojo to pick up this part its a masterpiece with flaws i will admit however when it gets it right it does it so well, Araki has created a fiction in which i never thought i would get so invested in.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 : Stone Ocean – A Restrospective Reflection

For me, my journey through reading Stone Ocean was much different compared to previous parts. It took much longer for me to finish it as I only read a few chapters at a time. There was little excitement after the completion of each chapter, and the plot was difficult for me to follow. The entire feel was lackluster. Now, most would consider this fair evidence that the manga is not a good read. That was also my first impression right after finishing it, however only now do I realise that perhaps I did not pay close enough attention while reading, and should really give it more credit.

Thoughts on Jolyne -
The most important character of any Jojo part is usually the main Jojo. In Part 6, Jolyne, the first female Jojo, is introduced. Jolyne is the daughter of Jotaro Kujo, and begins her story in prison, reminiscent of Jotaro in Part 3. Due to this prison setting, her character development faces a problem, which Jotaro also shared. Looking at Part 4, Josuke is shown to live a normal life as a student, and we can see various aspects of his personality as he encounters enemies, talks to friends and lives his life. This is one of the things which Part 4 does really well, and was probably the addition which increased its popularity above other parts. Jotaro, despite being a 17 year old highschool student, was forced to journey to Egypt all while fighting enemy stand users pretty much on a daily basis. This meant that we couldn’t see various aspects of Jotaro which make up who he is. In Part 4 and Part 6 Jotaro plays different roles, as a supporting character. This meant that we could see what Jotaro is like when not constantly fighting, and these appearances helped readers connect with his character. Unfortunately, Jolyne’s character is faced with the same problem, and even worse, she is in prison, with no friends, no sense of security as well as having the huge task of recovering her father’s memory. Throughout Stone Ocean I felt that the majority of Jolyne’s character was shown through how she deals with her enemies, and little through her relationships with other characters. Even so, her action scenes show us her ingenuity, fighting spirit, and badassery similar to Joseph, Jonathan and Jotaro. Though she does have a unique personality it is quite hard to get a feel of and is somewhat masked by the prison setting.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT:

Thoughts on Battles
While some battles in Stone Ocean were quite exceptional, for example Underworld, C-Moon, even Marilyn Manson, some were too difficult to understand, or outright stupid. In my opinion these are the battles against Johngalli A, Thunder McQueen, Kenzou, Miu Miu, Ungalo and the final fight against Pucci. I will explain these in detail.
The first main threat to appear is Johngalli A. While appearing to be an important character at first since he is a servant of Dio, after his first and only appearance he dies. This would be fine if he was defeated as a result of Jolyne’s efforts, since during the fight Jolyne and Jotaro were trying to defeat him. However, as the fight progresses it is suddenly revealed that they were unconscious and in a dream. “Waking up from a dream” while being attacked by a strange acid by a completely different stand user simply doesn’t not flow well, hence why I think this fight was written poorly. The fights against Thunder McQueen and Kenzou seemed a bit brute forced with little strategy, although they aren’t even that bad when compared to Ungalo/Bohemian Rhapsody. First, the stand ability is ridiculous. Bohemian Rhapsody has the power to animate fictional characters, as well as pull someone’s fate into the fate of one of the fictional characters. However, an ability this strong could only be countered by PLOT, hence creating a fictional character whose entire purpose would be to counteract the stand would, in fact, counteract the stand. That was just bad writing.
The battle against Miu Miu was quite difficult to follow. The stand ability causes the person affected to lose all long term memory after being attacked, and only keep three pieces of information in their short term memory. While the concept is quite interesting, I still cannot find a logical explanation for how the fight panned out. Jolyne was somehow able to defeat Miu Miu by receiving multiple pieces of information as a single piece, through the use of a mirror to see bullet reflections. This then poses the question, what qualifies as a piece of information? While I could understand King Crimson’s ability, I cannot understand Jailhouse Lock, therefore this battle was bad. Smh.
Finally, the ultimate battle, with 150 chapters leading up to it, was sadly anticlimactic. Compared to the defeat of Yoshikage Kira in Part 4, where multiple characters played their part to contribute towards their victory, or even Dio’s defeat in Part 3, which was mostly a Jotaro one man carry, Made in Heaven basically confused and bewildered Jolyne’s entire group, killed all but Emporio, and restarted the entire universe. Pucci was later then killed by Emporio through one stupid mistake. Think of the fight as Yoshikage Kira team wiping, then tripping and being run over by the ambulance, with none of the action in between. Maybe it was slightly better, and I am exaggerating, but the disappointment is real. Additionally, Made in Heaven’s ability was hardly explained at all, with about one page of explanation and a small diagram. This made the ending extremely confusing and controversial.

Thoughts on the Main Antagonist
Perhaps the most well written character in Stone Ocean is the main antagonist, Enrico Pucci. Part of what makes him a good villain is the way he conducts himself, in a calm and calculated way. Even as a follower of Dio, he is much more than just a pawn. The best part of Pucci, in my opinion, is the backstory. What made Part 5 all the more memorable and enjoyable for me were the backstories for each member of Passione, which enhanced the feel and character for each member. Pucci’s backstory has got to be one of the best in the entire original universe. His ties with Weather Report, Gravity and Dio made him what is described as the worst kind of evil : When one does not even know what they do is evil. His character as well as his incredible stand evolution really help him shine as an incredibly powerful but memorable villain.

Final Word
Stone Ocean pushed the boundaries of Jojo’s beyond what we as readers believed possible, and it was certainly a rough ride to the end. Part 6 had both well and poorly written moments, however given that the series has “Bizarre” in its title one shouldn’t have too many expectations going into it. If you can enjoy the manga for what it is, and not lament on what it could have been, Part 6 is an incredible part and is certainly up to standard with the rest of Jojo’s.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Stone Ocean is a very divisive part for many, and I can totally understand why. A ton of controversial decisions are made, and you can see Hirohiko Araki trying to figure out how much he can get away with. However, despite that, I believe this to not only be amazing in its own right, but one of the best JoJo parts to date, rivaled only by Steel Ball Run.

Story: 10/10

It should be noted that the story is not, by any means, FLAWLESS. It can be a tad difficult to follow at times and straight up nonsensical at others. However, this is part of the charm of JoJo, in my opinion. This story also feels far more involved than other parts. So often, ever since Stands were introduced, JoJo feels like "get from point A to point B and don't get killed along the way." Even Steel Ball Run falls into this trap for the most part. The only two parts that avoid this are JoJolion and Stone Ocean. It's not about just getting somewhere, but rather DOING something. The fights come (mostly) organically as a result of opposing goals, rather than the enemies being literal walking roadblocks. Towards the end, the story falls a bit more into this trap again, but at that point the build-up to it was so good that it didn't matter.

Art: 8/10

Personally, I've always had a hard time reading manga. That's why I have so little manga listed on my profile. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I just can't understand what I'm seeing. Granted, I read the JoJo's Colored Adventure release, but the lineart and shading is still Araki's work. And, all of that being said, Araki does an excellent job conveying his ideas and the actions. Beyond that, the art is simply beautiful. The only reason I have it at an 8 is because I read the colored release, so I can't speak PURELY for Araki's work.

Character: 9/10

This cast of characters is one of my favorites, without a doubt. From Jolyne's excessive vulgarity in language and action, to F.F.'s (literal) fish-out-of-water nature, to Annasui's almost aggressive pursuit of Jolyne, the Stone Ocean crew is immense fun to be around.

The villain, Pucci, is also interesting. I know this point is hotly contested by many, but I found his motivation to be unique, if a bit... confusing.

The only reason I have it as a 9 instead of a 10 is the under-utilization of characters like Annasui and Emporio and, most egregiously, Ermes.

Enjoyment: 10/10

There's not a lot you can say objectively to support something like enjoyment. It's kind of a feeling. Stone Ocean is, in my opinion, a breath of fresh air for JoJo. While not bad, JoJo's had been steadily declining in quality since Battle Tendency, with Vento Aureo being somewhat weak. Stone Ocean felt so new and tense, and since this part JoJo's has been on the uprise, with Steel Ball Run being downright brilliant and JoJolion, from what I've read so far, being very nearly as excellent.

Overall: 10/10

Stone Ocean is a wild ride from beginning to end. With a spectacular cast of characters, fun and interesting stands (finally, an UNDERPOWERED main JoJo!) and a whole ton of risks taken, Stone Ocean feels like, appropriately, the dawn of a new age for JoJo. I highly recommend to anyone.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
I wasn't a fan of part 5, so i was hoping that this part would be better, especially because of the fact that the prison setting sounds really refreshing for jojo, but unfortunately, for me, this is the worst part so far.

The story flows quite well and the ending, while being weird, was really unique and kinda satisfying, but of course i'm talking about the story and not the last fight, the last fight was average and boring, just like the last fight in part 5. that's the problem - This part has the worst fights in any part. at least in part 5, for every bad fight, there was a good fight, but most of the fights in this part are average/bad. Chapters 1-20 were interesting and i was hyped to read the rest of the part, but, right after that, the quality drops heavily, when they start to introduce the main cast while i have to force myself to read boring/overly complicated fights. Especially the fight against that old man with the dragon, it was so boring that i stopped paying attention in the middle. after chapter 100 is when it got really boring to me and i was forcing myself to read it so i could finish it already. Basically, almost all of the stands in this part are boring, that's what truly made me dislike this part.

The characters are a hit and miss, just like in part 5.
Jolyne has a fun personality, definitely one of the best in the series, but her stand on the other hand is not shown a lot throughout the part and that makes her a little less enjoyable. Her being Jotaro's daughter is engaging and the interaction between them is fun as hell. i would say that she's a better character than Giorno overall.
Hermes is my least favorite out of the main ones, her backstory and the whole thing about her revenge felt forced and out of place, she's just an empty character for me.
Annasui was an ok character, his stand was bad, but his personality was nice, although they didn't really explain why he had that habit of breaking things, they didn't really expand on it. His interactions with Jolyne were a hit or miss tbh.
Pucci was an average character for me at first, but after we got his backstory, i really liked him. His objective was something weird and interesting at the same time. I was really surprised at what he did at the end, that made him an even better character, absolutely better than Diavolo.
That's all i have to say about the main characters, there are more, but i don't really have something to say about them, they're fine, i guess.

I start to think that the author was uninspired when he was making this part. even part 3, while being inconsistent, still had a lot of good fights, it's a shame that i can only name 3-4 good fights in part 6, and two of them are at the start. I'm glad that this part is supposedly the finale of parts 1-6, and that the author took a new direction with jojo, because after this part, it definitely needed that.

oh, and remember, OPINIONS :)

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
To be honest one of the most underrated jojo manga and i think more people should give it a shot before saying that it is bad writing, characters and all that stuff.
I am not really the review guy but i am going to tell you that if you really get into it you will really appreciate what Araki has done about Part 6 and i hope more people will get into the part when it comes animated.
Don't get me wrong i don't think it is better than part 7 but i think it is way underrated for some reason. For instance F.F and Annasui are one of the best characters that were written by Araki and you can not possibly change my mind.
Pucci was created to be the next DIO and don't get me wrong i don't think that DIO can be easily replaced but if that was the purpose of Pucci he did it damn good and i think he should be way more appreciated as a villain and looked into.
For a while now a hear people saying that Jolyne is a pretty dull JoJo because she didn't do anything cool as the others....oh man Jolyne did some pretty crazy stuff over the chapters and it hurts me to hear so much hate for her.
There are also the bad things the manga which are pretty easy to be seen, like Hermes just disappeared for 2/4 of the part for some unknown reason, when Araki forgot how birthmarks work, the healing powers of DIO that were unknown until the part came out,the 3 sons of DIO that were particularly useless(even tho i love Versaci).
There are pros and cons about the manga and i as said in my opinion it is underrated and i hope it gets more attention in the future.

Thank you for reading and have good day

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Stone Ocean is my second favourite out of all the JoJos, falling behind Steel Ball Run. Honestly I kind of wish I hadn't finished as fast as I did so I would be able to enjoy it more.

Story:
The story of this part is on par with Araki's previous JoJos and the story telling is done in a manner which will keep the reader interested and you will want to keep reading. I found myself reading 10-20 chapters when I had promised myself I would only read around 2-3. The stands introduced in this part are fascinating as well as the way they are utilised by each user.

Art:
The art for this part is just like his previous work with beautiful attention to detail. The look of each stand is fantastic and they each look unique and fresh.

Character:
The characters in this part are amazingly likeable and hilarious. The JoJo of this part Jolyne is the daughter of part 3's Jotaro and she is my favourite JoJo. Jolyne is probably one of my favourite characters in any manga I've read. Hermes the 'best friend' of Jolyne is hilarious with quite a sad backstory. The other characters such as Weather Report and Annasui don't actually appear until later on in the series but it is quite interesting to watch them interact with one another. The villain of this part Pucci is very powerful (on DIO's level) but has a past which is quite tragic. The fights between Jolyne and Pucci are very fun to read. Jotaro comes back in this part but he obviously is one of the minor characters.
Edit: I forgot to talk about my favourite character FF. She's an amazing character.

Enjoyment:
Stone Ocean is one of the more compelling JoJo stories and is highly enjoyable. The fight scenes between the different stands were fantastic and captivating. I enjoyed this part a lot and it was well great.

Overall: 9/10 Highly recommend this part to any JJBA fans.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Stone Ocean is frequently dismissed as a bad JoJo part, and lives in the shadow of part 6. But after reading it, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and action, and I'm certain when it's animated it will be hype enough to draw attention.

Story: 9/10

Unlike the stories of past JoJo parts, this one is rather unique. It takes directions and themes that aren't in most other shonen stories. There are surprises, confusion and shock. Without spoiling too much, almost everything that is mentioned in the story is relevant later, giving the reader an "aha" moment when they remember the key event of the past. It is a very good story that is really unpredictable.

Art: 7/10

Not much to say here. The detail isn't too outstanding, and it looks similar to part 5's artstyle with some minor differences such as the shapes of the faces and shading. It's not astounding, but it's easy to look at.

Character: 6/10

There isn't much character development. Good people are good, bad are bad. This isn't a bad thing though, as the simplicity keeps you focused on the action. The characters, while static, are also very entertaining, like Anasui or Emporio.

Enjoyment: 8/10

The story is good, and the action is good. Minus 2 points for seemingly aimless and unnecessary combat arcs that add nothing to the plot.

Overall: 8/10

An excellent JoJo part. Far exceeds part 3 and 4. Probably goes even with 5. It starts out good, weakens in the middle but has a very strong end.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
I am a massive JoJos fan so when I kept on hearing that this was the weakest part since part 1 I didn't really know what to expect. What part 6 ended up being was a mixed bag that was went from boring to just above average in terms of quality. However, at no point would I ever consider it to be the worst part.

STORY - 7/10.

The story in 'Stone Ocean' had a lot of potential and to its credit it did hook me immediately. There is just enough going on that it stays somewhat interesting and engaging. However, there a number of parts where it begins to drag a bit too much highlighted by a lot of stand fights lasting waayyy longer than they should. Its two main weaknesses IMO is the fact that the majority of the story is told within one extremely uninteresting location, which leads to villain of the week type stuff( like part 3) and the ending which i won't say too much about because of spoilers but overall it is a decent enough story.

ART - 9/10.

The art in 'Stone Ocean' is amazing and exactly the level of quality you would expect from Hirohiko Araki. Every character and stand design is extremely creative and unique which ensure, if nothing else, that you'll never get bored with looking at the charters and their stands

Characters - 6/10

The characters in 'Stone Ocean' are by far its weakest part with almost none of them being of the standard I usually expect from JoJo's. That being said I really did enjoy Jolyne as the main character. She is consistently fun, entertaining, smart as hell( in her fights) and completely fearless in her many stand battles.I also loved her character development and getting to see her become more confidant in herself and abilities with great to see. Hermes, who would become one of Jolynes best friends, is another great character and seeing her interactions with Jolyne were never dull. Enrico Pucci is another fantastic character and I looked forward to every time we got to see him.Weather Report has one of my favourite backstories in JoJos and is another character who helps keep the story interesting. Sadly through I couldn't really bring myself to care about any of the other characters in part 6 (with the exception of maybe F.F but even then I didn't think she was anything special) with none of them really offering anything to really grab your attention with their personalities being very bland at least when compared to the side characters of previous parts. Especially when compared to the other parts I think the side villains in particular to be extremely boring, to the point where i would want them to be beaten simply so that the story could move on. The stands battle are as creative as you would expect from JoJos but i would say that some of the battles and stand abilities are way to over-the-top and, frankly, stupid even by JoJos standard.

Enjoyment/Overall - 7/10

While part 6 most certainly does have its strong points -great art, great MC, some really creative stand battles- I feel like its negative point are just too glaring. The biggest issues being too over-the-top stand abilities, forgettable sides characters, and some really bad pacing issues

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
For those already familiar with the series (or at least Stardust Crusaders) then the last name "Cujoh" may sound familiar to you. Which is because Jolyne Cujoh is Jotaro Kujo's daughter and has inherited every bit of badassery and cunning there is from the Joestar bloodline.

Story: 8
Part 6 mainly takes place in a prison which has amazingly low restrictions and gives the residents a certain amount of free will. Life in the prison is easy if you have money, a fact that Jolyne learns from Hermes, a woman who is also going to Green Dolphin Street prison.

Stone Ocean is no exception when it comes to action (you can imagine the number of brawls that go on in a prison). The fight scenes are as over the top as ever. Araki comes up with a huge amount of ridiculous stands in ridiculous situations with ridiculous conclusions.

The story itself is interesting and complex effectively winding together different character's lives and stories. You'll laugh and you'll definitely cry. Sure, Araki's writing isn't perfect, but it gets the job done well.

Art: 9
Araki's style changes significantly throughout the entire series. Unlike Part 4's gradual, yet notable style change, Part 6 stays consistent throughout and is similar to Part 5's. The characters are still muscular which includes the stands. And, as always, Araki enjoys his gore so there's plenty of blood shed. What stood out to me the most, though, is that Araki draws a lot of...strange looking characters in Stone Ocean. I'm not talking about the stands (which have always been strange), but the people there almost look like aliens sometimes.

Character: 8
Jolyne is the first and only Jojo to date which may throw some people off for different reasons. Jolyne is a complex character who can show femininity but can beat the crap out of anyone who gets in her way. Araki decided to give readers a bit of her background as well as making it clear how she felt about her father, other characters, and how other characters saw her throughout the course of the manga. Though her character, as well as other characters, felt unexplored in certain areas she still feels decently established.

The important characters are all given backgrounds when needed which helps the reader empathize with their situation. In fact, the backgrounds of some characters are largely important to the main plot of the story (as I mentioned before Araki winds together these characters effectively). However, Araki's writing is flawed and he often writes retcons (watch for Annasui's introduction). These did not interfere with the enjoyment of the story as a whole though.

Enjoyment: 9
I really enjoyed Stone Ocean. I wrote about the lack of strong female leads in comparison to the male leads in the series and someone had suggested I read this part since the main character was female. She did not disappoint me at all. I fell in love with the majority of the characters quickly (which led to some major heart breaking later on) and the weight of the background stories/main story still sits heavily in me today.

Overall: 8/10! I absolutely recommend anyone who enjoyed other parts of JJBA to read it as well as anyone into action and an amazing main character!

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
Excuse me mainly if my English is not the best (I'm even doing this mostly with a translator).

Although stone ocean has comedy and many absurd things, it is mainly the part in which Araki made a good tragic story, a drama in a prison with stands? that sounds great!

and a black gay priest trying to reach the "sky" that SOUNDS BETTER.

both jolyne, hermes, anasui, weather report, F.F. It has its reasons which continue in history, causing great tension and drama of themselves to know who is the user of White Snake.

his characters have a great development, even Jotaro seems more human and with more reasons than in his previous parts.

and speaking of his antagonist Pucci, it seems to me even one of the best I saw in a story, both his past and his reasons for "reaching heaven" are justifiable, making everything he does is for his good.

Jolyne is the first jojo with a very remarkable character development compared to his previous parts.

I am even surprised that Araki has handled Philosophy so well without ruining it.

although the negative without talking about its antagonist, is that the able villains that are not so memorable and their stands do not make sense, but at least the weekly villain formula does not have as much as the previous parts, but those of stone ocean feel important for that the plot advances.

I do not have much to say about this part, it just seems like the best that araki has, has memorable characters, excellent antagonist, a very but very reflective end that marks a before and after, very excellent dialogues and handles their issues very well. I do not understand much because there are so many people who did not like it or who consider it the worst, because it is very well written.

Thank you for reading! (written by me in reddit post.)

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean review
SPOILERS
JoJo Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean
