Резюме
Long ago, there was a great war between the realms of angels and demons over mankind. The demons were a wicked lot and treated humans as their toys, while the angels fought to protect humans from the demons. When the war was over the angels built a town called Ilvia to keep humanity safe against the demons. In the middle of Ilvia is a place called sanctuary where children live under the guidance of the angels. The angels teach the children they must not leave the sanctuary because the demons will get them due to being attracted to their pure souls. When the children reach there fourteenth birthday they graduate from the sanctuary and are seen off by the other children to paradise. What is paradise? All is well or is there something more sinister going on behind the scenes...

Godspeed review
tl;dr: Interesting concepts with a pretty bad execution.
This manga starts off with an interesting concept and some solid world building. I also thought the character designs were solid and though there weren't that many the basic character introductions were solid enough. The battle system too seemed like it had potential. However, it had a few major issues right off the bat. The first is that the pacing was pretty random. While they were still in the sanctuary it was decent enough, but after they left it felt like things got a lot more arbitrary and it didn't feel like it was telling a cohesive story. The other issue is the art, which was really rough and quite messy, so even with solid designs it wasn't nice to look at. It also feels like it got axed, resulting in everything it did build up never getting built upon and thus it never managing to get anywhere with most of what it looked like it wanted to and instead went into an ending that was rushed quite a bit, wherein the author does seem to manage to tie up every plot thread introduced so far it seems, but barely touching most of them and hence doing too much without doing anything properly. |
Godspeed review
Im suprised not more people have read this, but at the same time i can see why.
Only 10 chapters and 2 volumes, that is not much, especially not if the first chapters show you the picture a large living world with it's own unique features. After reading some other reviews i found out that the author died. That explains a lot, since this manga has an extremly abrupt ending. Which may really shock you since the first five chapters or so speaks of a large and interesting adventure that may go on for a few volumes or so. However, i really enjoyed it and the artstyle is pretty good. |
