the quintessential quintuplets was such a good read, amazing characters, art and story!

the first time i saw the title, i instantly had negative thoughts. it sounded a little weird at first but after learning what the story is about and actually reading it, i see the name fits very well.

story: 9/10
i love a good romance every once and a while, as well as harems, and this gave me my share. in simple terms, the story is just about 5 girls who needed to be tutored, and they all end up falling in love with the tutor and one of them will be the brides. the plot is almost like every harem ever but something about this manga just stood out more than the others. there are funny moments, sad moments, etc, it has basically everything for you to go through a roller coaster of emotions. overall i just really love the plot of this story specifically.

art: 10/10
the art in this manga is SO pretty, some of the panels in it are some of my all time favorite panels of all time. the visuals are so good, you can see the character for more than just designs with the way they are drawn. in my opinion, there are hardly any flaws in the art. it hints at a more shoujo style but also has a modern look to it. its very cutesy but extremely detailed. the background work is always stunning.

character: 9/10
i'm just going to be blunt about this, the quints are very different. you have the typical emo girl, the hyper girl, tsundere, etc. then the protagonist is just your average black haired, basic design, stuck to one thing and that is their life. well, i just happen to find protags like that to be my favorites. fuutarou is a very bland but also well written character, though i do wish the mangaka gave him a little more than just being a studyholic the whole time. i understand he is a star student and he is a tutor but come on, he didn't even want to go on a school trip. miku is the 'emo' one, she's very shy, frankly i love her. yotsuba is the overly hyper girl, i love her too. ichika is more of the grown up of the quints. nino is the tsundere, i found her to be annoying, i generally don't like tsunderes. last but not least, itsuki is probably the most sane of them all, gotta love her.

enjoyment: 10/10
i was kinda bored after the first chapter but i forced myself to continue because i really really liked the art, and it just got better and better. i started to enjoy it more and more before i realized i was at the end. the ending..shocked me. i never would've imaged that she would be the bride but it all made sense. by the end i just knew this was one of my favorite mangas of all time. it's only been a week or 2 but i already want to reread it.

overall: 9/10
in the end this is just another romance manga, but this ones really good. again, you don't have to take my word for it, go read it yourself and see if you like it! i recommend it 100% if you want to read something a little calming and just an overall amazing manga. it's relatively short, 122 chapters, but you can binge read it in a couple days.
