Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra review
I'd like to preface this review by saying this manga is best read by readers who aren't looking for anything serious, who can laugh at silly situations, who enjoy misunderstandings, and anything else familiar a high school "romance" comedy.
Story - 6 - Fair It's a comedy manga with cliche events as a baseline, so of course it won't be very thrilling. However, very fun anticipating what Tsujiura will do in the situations she's put in. Events unfold in an order you'd expect, and they like to introduce characters every few chapters so it doesn't get stale. The whole reason why this story is happening in the first place is quite enjoyable as well (She has to pretend to be a waifu when she's really a super strong fighter/bully? Yes please!) Art - 8 - Very Good The art is great, in the way that it conveys the over-exaggerated situations the characters are put in excellently. The facial expressions the characters use are perfect for this type of manga. The illustrations used when characters are explaining something to another character are quite enjoyable as well (especially when a sister joins the crew). Character - 6 - Fine Characters are fine for a manga like this. They each have their specialties and weaknesses and they interact with each other in a very fun way. Even the un-detailed student body that usually watches on from the sidelines are fun to have around. Enjoyment - 10 - Outstanding I LOVE silly, over-the-top comedy manga. Even if I have a general idea of what will happen next, it doesn't beat the artist's visual representation and dialogue of each and every situation. Can't wait for the rest to be translated! |
Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra review
Pretty much writing this just to contradict Shamone2131's ridiculous review.
Just to sum his review up "I don't like that main girl is pretending to date the MC and beat him up! Wahh 1/10". Ok then, first of all, if the synopsis didn't give it away already, that's basically one of the running gags of the manga. It literally says she's a delinquent. The kicker here is that he read all 16 TLd chaps before complaining about how much he hates Tsujiura being violent. If that was such a deal breaker, he should've dropped it after ch.2. He wishes he could erase the manga from his brain, yet the manga told you exactly what it was going to be from the get-go. His own time wasted then. But, I digress. Let me get into a REAL review. I'll keep it brief. Kiritani Yuu is an average kid who tries to never stand out at school. His life goal is to be a longer who doesn't attract attention. Tsujiura Megumi is a notorious delinquent who transfers into the school...oh and she believes in cryptids like a diehard. Tsujiura doesn't want to ruin her nice girl persona at her new school, otherwise she risks getting kicked out again. When all is said and done, Tsujiura recruits Yuu into her fake couple plan to keep all of the creeps away. Now that the kid who wanted to be a loner is blackmailed into dating a violent, cryptid loving transfer girl, hijinks ensues. Lot's of chupacabras, lots of insanely weird characters appearing trying to cause trouble, and lots of misunderstandings. If you like crazy rom-com's with aggressive tsundere's and weird ass supporting characters, then give it a shot. It's got a unique quirky art style...and random cryptid moments. If that's your kind of thing, then give it a try. Please just don't take the angry little weebs review with anything more than a grain of salt. |
Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra review
Talk about a manga, that started low and never moved. Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra was a romance manga, that really just wanted to have the word romance in it and nothing else.
My first reaction:NISEKOI RIP-Off ( and I dont even like Nisekoi to begin with and I could see this a mile away) So the story of Tsujiura-San being a beautiful ass-kicking beast of a girl who makes a random nobody into her boyfriend to hide her rep is nothing speial. In fact its quite stale and even her love for finding wierd unexplained mysteries seems cliche and overdone. On top of that, there are barely anything else to gravitate to .The rivals are all one dimensional and overused, there are no family members (apart from the overused snob little sister) and it doesnt do anything special that any other manga hasnt done before. The only time it had any semblence of likability was when the two main boys started a rock band, which was a bit funny.Too bad the next chapter was the final one. And Im glad it did, this felt like a manga that overstayed its welcome, by 30 chapters. And trust me ,If you're looking for a new take on Romance in this day and age, you wont find it here |
Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra review
I have never been so angered by a manga in my life. *slight story spoilers* This one utilizes the fake boyfriend cliche (which is awful to begin with) and smothers with it you until you choke and die. The main protagonist is forced to date a cruel and manipulative girl, who uses him and (love hina style) beats him to a pulp constantly.
1/10, wish I could wipe this manga from my brain. |
