Koi no Choujikuuhou

Rating is tough on this one because this book is a collection of short stories (very short) and their level of quality can be quite unbalanced.
8/10 is because overall it's really enjoyable imo.

IMPORTANT : I think this kind of manga/art is not for everyone. If you're not a FAN of horror in the widest way possible, just pass, really. This is a collection of very twisted dark humor stories with body horror and erotic content. I'd advice to check what's the author's work on the internet before reading this so you'll have an idea if it's your kind of thing or not.

Now, the review :

First, the stories : I can say the point here is the weirdness value. The author found great concepts and he pushed them to extremes. So that's the good part. Bad thing is, the narrative is kinda missing in most of these. The conclusions of the stories are particularly poor. I'd say, read it for the fun, but don't expect to dive into masterful narrative, that's just not gonna happen here.

Art is very good. The lines seem to be very precise, even though it's far from being perfect and still lacks of accuracy sometimes. Depiction of horror is very intense and well done. I can definitely tell it's what inspired S.Kago the most.

I'd say characters are very good because even though the stories are really short, I could feel some empathy for them (if a girl gets bully by her classmates, or wants to enter a secret club...) and felt like they had engaging personalities.

Enjoyment/Overall : If you're open minded, fond of body horror, not fait-hearted, or just a fan of Ero-guro then it's definitely one for you! Some stuff in this manga are really enjoyable, either shocking or really funny. S.Kago definitely has a lot of humor. Don't take this 1st degree for sure.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this to read. The previews on rightstuf.com didn't show too much except for the chapter covers. I thought maybe it wasn't erotic manga but instead it was in the adult category because of it being gory or something. Even when I breifly flipped through the pages I didn't see anything major with sex, but when I got to reading it....boy was I wrong. Very wrong, oblivious really lol. So now with that out of the way.
This manga can be erotic at times but it mostly consists of "guro" or just gore in general. I can usually stomach it but some scenes were so gross I thought I would have vomited. Mainly the itcing chapter. It's stories can be really crazy, reminding me of Junji Ito...except with more sex. Many of the chapters end in such blunt ways and are really silly, then again most of the stories are pretty silly in the first place. One thing that bugged me was that the characters reactions didn't seem genuine.They didn't really give off proper emotion, I wish they did that better. The pacing needed a bit of work too.
I really enjoyed the art work the most. I would like to get more surreal art from this manga artist.
If you like really freaky adult eroge...like REALLY freaky. You will enjoy this.
