Резюме
Yuiko Kubozuka, a 17-year-old single high school student, loves animals; unfortunately, because of her overwhelming affection, they always run away from her. One stormy night, Yuiko accidentally scares her own cat up a tree, but a boy with fierce eyes and the looks of a wild animal helps save her cat and leaves without a word. The next day, the same boy turns out to be the new transfer student, Leo Aoi, whom everyone is frightened of due to his intimidating appearance.
Regardless, Yuiko drums up the courage to thank him for last night. She soon finds out that underneath his frightening guise, Leo actually has a very sweet nature and also seems to have a way with animals, which makes her envious. However, Leo holds a dark secret: whenever he sees blood, he loses his human reasoning and unleashes his beastly instincts on those around him. Will Yuiko be able to tame the wild beast inside Leo or will he flee from her like all the other animals?
Included one-shots:
Volume 1: Fly
Volume 2: Saboten Summer Surprise (Cactus Summer Surprise)

Beast Master review
Beast Master is an unique manga that, when you finish reading it, it leaves you begging for more. The characters were really well-portrayed and weren't cliche, plus the art's really good too. After the whole manga ends, you would think more and ponder about the future, the character's future and everything. It really is a very special manga. Pity it was too short! That's how I finished it in one day, (p.s) its addictive too :D
Overall, AWESOME MANGA. :D Totally recommended! |
Beast Master review
This is probably one of the most unorthodox manga I've ever read, but I think it's for that reason that I loved it so much. The phrase "short and sweet" definitely describes this series. Even though it's only two volumes long, it contains more feeling than I've seen in longer series.
The art is lovely, but that's to be expected from Kyousuke Motomi. The characters are likable and real - you won't find Mary-Sues in this series. The story, though short, was great and all loose ends were tied at the end. I'd definitely recommend this lighthearted romantic comedy. |
Beast Master review
This is my first review on manga, so..it might kind of worse. But since Beast Master is one of my favorite manga, I've been looking forward to review it.
From the art side, the view and the way the characters are being represented is just great. A boy with a ferocious look outside but a warm, pure heart on the inside. That kind of character is hard to be sketch. And the line story are just amazing. Somehow, it may be cliche, a high school love story..*hell yeah, it's a shoujo manga..*, but what makes it different is the story line where Leo is looking ferocious on the outside but really soft in actuality. The manga-ka must be really imaginative. Overall, this manga is the best and actually, I am hoping for a further volume of this manga, as I want to see Leo overload cuteness. How I wish I could met a guy like Leo. |
Beast Master review
A original romance manga about a girl who loves animals but hate her and a boy who is loved by animals but feared by people... Haha! I love that! it's so original and ironic! The characters are so cute and unforgetable (specially Leo, he was so sweet!) and the art is great. It's such a shame this manga isn't popular. If I was able to pick which manga would become anime, this would definatly be one!
100% recomended! |
Beast Master review
Ah, Beast Master is good stuff.
Despite it's intimidating title and bondage-esque cover, Beast Master is a fairly normal shoujo manga. It is somewhat cliched, but very enjoyable. While it's not over the top amazing, it's above average in all categories. ==Story== The story is pure, unadulterated fun. Occasionally it gets a bit serious, but mostly, it's just pure entertainment. The comic timing is impeccable. This really is a comedy, you know. It's freakin' hilarious. It's somewhat predictable and stereotypically shoujo, but it's still enjoyable. ==Character== Leo, the hero, is one of the most lovable characters shoujo manga has ever seen. He's just amazingly cute. He's not one of those irritating perfect high school princes, Leo's just dang adorable. Another reason I love this series is because Yuiko is a super-strong and brave heroine. I was surprised when she was introduced actually talking to a group of people in her class, as opposed to the stereotypically socially incapable but easily sympathetic Mary Sue style heroine we're used to. Yuiko... is great! ==Art== The art is quite good. While there is the occasional awkward looking face, otherwise it's solid. While Yuiko's character design is stereotypically-shoujo forgettable, Leo's is not. The audience will long remember his adorable happy fanged face. Toki-san's funny European face stands out, and Leo's dad has an interesting desgin as well. The action is AMAZING for a shoujo comic. I was pretty much blown away. It somewhat reminded me of Shaman King's hip hop style. It's just that cool. By the way, the author, Kyousuke Motomi... is a man. That explains the action and the tough heroine, but why would a man write shoujo...? But ah well. If he writes more shoujo, he's gonna put the women to shame at their own game. ==Bonuses== There are two bonuses in the Beast Master series, one is a short story called Fly Away, which is cute and nice, but otherwise not noteworthy except for a cool scene where the heroine jumps from a bridge and you can see her abs. Cactus Summer Surprise, however, is an amazing 80 page long bonus. It's an amazingly inventive, and surprisingly touching short story. While the character designs don't stand out, their personalities are unique and quirks, and stand out. The comedy is amazing. I had to stop and slam my head on the desk from laughing so hard. Unlike the plot of Beast Master, the plot of Cactus Summer Surprise was inventive, unique, and loads of fun. As good as Beast Master was, Cactus Summer Surprise pretty much beat it up. Beast Master is definitely worth the read! Go read it right now! (By the way, kudos to whoever recommended it for fans of "You're My Girlfriend." Great recommendation!) |
Beast Master review
A girl hated by animals but gets along with most people and a guy disliked by humans and liked by animals. Just that caught my attention of how two different people can meet like that. At first when I read the title and saw the cover picture I was thinking it would be something really weird and I wouldnt like it but when I started reading I couldnt stop! This manga was just amazing and so unique.
The art was not breathtaking but it was better than usual manga. Also, I enjoyed the 2 short stories Fly and Cactus Summer Suprise. I highly recommend it if you want to watch a good romance story. |
Beast Master review
STORY: Its a romance between a girl who gets along well with people, but is hated by the thing she loves most (animals) and a boy that is great with animals, but has a beast-like personality that makes people think that he's completely unapproachable. I have to admit that I was trying my hardest to avoid reading this, because I'm not into the whole beauty falling in love with beast story. But something about it just made me want to take a quick peek, and I ended up reading the entire thing lol I couldnt stop. I didn't expect this story to have such a well balanced mix of romance and comedy. There's even a bit of drama and parts that may make you tear up a bit ;D The reason why it seems so unbelievable is because it's only seven chapters. So it's short, and in my opinion a little too short which is why i gave it a 9 instead of a 10. It has closure, but i just wish it was a bit longer because I think it would be interesting to know what things would be like in the future ? ART: 9 because I've seen better, but I must say that there wasn't a single page in which I was dissapointed. For this story I thought that everything was drawn pretty well, I'm completely jealous because I wish that I could draw like that. lol My favorite scenes are of when Leo snaps And I love Yuiko's eyes when she's thinking.=] CHARACTERS: For such a short story there was lots of character development ! I believe that the two main characters developed throughout the story, but the rest (like the classmates) changed only in the beginning. I enjoyed Beast Master a lot ! I laughed soo much, especially in the beginning because I sometimes show my affection towards animals in the same way as Yuiko, so i now know that should probably tone it down a bit ? lol overall it was a great read, especially for those of you who want a quicky. ;D I recommend it to everyone !=] |
Beast Master review
Story: 7
The overall concept was very innovative, but after the story continues it grows into a very predictable plot line, but i suppose all shoujo mangas are. Character: 7 There are some character's who are wonderfully developed in this, but others i wish would have more complex emotions towards them. Take for example, Yuiko, she is the main protagonist, yet her feelings revolve around Leo, so therefore we have little time to really understand her character. Enjoyment: 9 This manga was very enjoyable, good for a short read. Overall: 8 The overall appeal of this is manga, is an 8. The story was enjoyable, but it was not complicated, nor very intriguing, this subtracting from the overall appeal of the manga itself. The art though was superb, and quite detailed. When Leo was in his "beast" mode, the depiction of his face was quite scary, while on other times his facial expressions could be quite vulnerable and cute. |
