Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu review

Finally decided to write a review on this in celebration of the anticipated anime announcement.

The isekai, which original material(light novel) is said to be the start if the genre itself, the king that gave birth to all of the majority of shitty isekais you see every new season.

Isekai, shut-in, shunned by his own family, all his friends left him though some tried to help but ultimately failed, having dropped to the lowest point that a person could possibly get. Until the arrival of truck-kun, whom gave him a one way ticket to another world.

Being born/reincarnated to a couple of adventurers as Rudeus Greyrat with all of the memories from his previous life still intact, swore to live his new life to the fullest with no regrets and not making the same mistakes again he once made before.

By far, one of the most impressive things about this title is that it gets right is character development. Take our protagonist as an example, from being a person that was despised by his family, didn't even attend his father's funeral to a individual that is loved by his friends, piers and family members. Self-aware, humble and extremely perverted. Yeah... Although there are moments when he gets inappropriately horny, perverted but he still has his extends. A person that is willing do things that many would not even imagine if his family or friends were to be in danger. But he's a fundamentally kind person in nature, just overloaded on the pervy side.

Another thing that I find favourable is the Rudeus's power level. It's pretty much a given that he is strong from the get-go since he's the face of the series but there's a difference from other isekai protagonists. It's that he doesn't have any ridiculous cheats or skills, all of his power is earned from sheer hard work and determination. Strong, yes. But that doesn't mean there aren't stronger characters in the manga that could literally kill him in one shot.

The art itself is pretty impressive on it's own, a little bit rough in the few beginning chapters but eventually gets better since the artist is somewhat new(?) to the industry.

This could've gotten a full score if it weren't for the fact that it skips scenes and information from the source material. And it is not in a small amount, from the details on literally everything(an entire volume for god sake).

Mushoku Tensei is one of the few manga where I look foward to each release. I highly recommend reading the manga and if interested then you should give the light novel/web novel(both completed) a try to fill in the blanks on certain events that happens in the story.
