Dengeki Daisy review

Dengeki Daisy was a decent read, even though I found it to be pretty average overall. My main complaint was that it really seemed to drag on towards the end. The focus of the story changed gears after the two MC's came to terms with the identity of Daisy, and I didn't feel as emotionally engaged after that. I think that the manga could have stood to be 20-30 chapters shorter. The storyline began to feel more contrived as it stetched out longer and longer.

The characters were alright. Pretty standard "reformed badguy with a heart of gold " x young Mary Sue. Kurosaki was really likeable, and the struggles he had with overcoming his past made him interesting. I didn't dislike Teru, but overall her character didn't make much of an impression on me. The supporting characters added a lot of funny interactions and side comments to the main story.

The art wasn't bad, but it was pretty simple, and often lacked detail in the background. One thing that I did find to be really well done was the way that the mangaka portrayed different emotions on Kurosaki's face. And, of course, it didn't hurt that is was a very nice face to look at. :)
