Akatsuki no Yona review
I may stand as biased in my review, but I honestly love Akatsuki no Yona. I've re-read the entire manga three times. I especially recommend it if you enjoy shoujo manga.

-Story: (10) The story starts on quick and hooks you in. When I first read Akatsuki no Yona for the first time, I had originally planned to only read a few chapters then go to sleep. However, I was so intrigued I stayed up until 4 a.m. to read all the updated chapters. The story itself takes you on Hak and Yona's journey after Soo-won murders Yona's father. Together they eventually go out to seek new companions, each of whom get their own backstories. I won't say anymore in fear of spoiling the story, but to say the least, I laughed and cried while reading Akatsuki no Yona. Truly, a spectacular storyline.

-Art: (10) Oh man, the art is so beautiful. It's not super unique, but I personally love the look of the characters and the scenery.

-Character: (10) If any of you have seen Akatsuki no Yona's anime adaptation, you would understand how annoying pampered Yona is at the palace. However, during the beginning chapters of the manga, she is less annoying and stuck-up, which is a relief. Overall, Yona's character development is truly amazing. This is one of the reasons Yona is beloved by everyone she meets later into the manga (She's also one of my favorite characters of all time!). The author also creates the other main/side characters to melt your heart. I can truthfully say I have a crush on almost everyone of the characters.

-Enjoyment: (10) I LOVED this manga, and still am continuing to re-read it over and over again. I recommend putting on some good music while you're reading.

-Overall: (10) I have not read a better manga yet.

Fullmetal Alchemist review
Okay, so let me just start off by saying that I am writing this review mainly because of the numerous people who will probably check the manga out after the FMA: Brotherhood hype, which as I'm sure everyone knows, is following the manga storyline. Hopefully this will be able to clear up any doubts or misconceptions some might have about the series. I can safely say that I started the first FMA anime early this year. A few years back, I tried picking up the FMA manga but it didn't manage to captivate me at all, and I ended up dropping it after the first few chapters. Now after I've been exposed to more anime/manga, I decided to pick the manga again and boy, I finished the entire thing in a single sitting.

The story is extremely intriguing, and the great thing is that after reading more chapters, you can see that the mangaka has thought out of the entire storyline way before the manga is actually published. Which actually reminds me alot of One Piece that is unlike other mangas which seem to churn out crap that does not make sense in a supposedly "plot-twist chapter". What I absolutely LOVE about this manga is that it manages to stay shounen with all the epic battle scenes, but yet delves into the human nature (Homunculi are representatives of the 7 deadly sins), consequences of war on individuals and society and boy, it really is an emotionally gripping manga. For me, I found myself feeling sorry for characters whom I thought I'd loathed, and some VERY twisted plot twists that keep coming keep me on the edge of my seat which is a good thing I presume. I can say flat out that the first anime DOES NOT have anything to do with the manga. As to why well, you'll have to read it to find out won't you?

The art is something which needed time for me to get used to. But well after around 10+ chapters the panels seemed to flow smoothly to me. The character's designs are simple yet distinctive, making it easy to recognise who is who. Eyes are drawn simply and with no elaborate details eg. Vampire Knight, Full Moon wo Sagashite etc. It may seem sketchy and unappealing at first, but you'll find out that it matches with the storyline perfectly.

One thing that I didn't like about this manga at first was the huge cast involved. I've never really liked stories whereby there are just so many people involved. But this manga made me think otherwise. The characters are each very distinctive and easily to differentiate, and all serve important roles in the story. Development is also very well done, and the series makes the characters as human like as possible. For example soldiers do not march off into battle fearlessly like in most shounen, but they cry and grapple with their conscience if what they're doing is right or wrong. Various relationships are also shown clearly, and not like BAM and they're in love! or some dumb things like that.

Overall I enjoyed the manga as I am able to relate to most of the characters, and there ARE some parallels to our real world (kind of obvious, actually). I like fantasy with a touch of realism, so this manga suits me just perfectly. I regretted dropping such an amazing gem but oh well at least I've picked it back up :D Oh and for those who are still unsure, the first FMA anime was good yes but compared to the manga storyline it is mediocre indeed. Pick up the manga now!

Buna no Mori no Aria review
CONSISTENT, BEAUTIFUL, CUTE character art! Some nice comedy too. The cover says it all. Cute red head witch girl, cute fluffy doggo. Big demand, big supply!

I have to type more!

I've only read a few chapters. High potential! What to say... CUTE! BEAUTIFUL! Yes!

I must admit... I never would have read this if it wasn't for the red head girl. Thank artist Aika Yugiri for drawing cute girls instead of cute boys.

Have you ever noticed that... a character design's cuteness is amplified when you add a big hat? That's right. In this manga, Aria the witch girl wears her witch hat whole day long, even in her house. Genius! So if you realized how many of your waifus or husbandos wear hats, you might wanna check this out!

The doggo too has some quality drawing. But it's ironically less fluffy than the character's hair. So it may appear less detail-ish than the character design. However, this simplistic doggo design enhance the idea of it being pure snow white. The gap moe of it being a ball of fluff and a fierce doggo is great.

Comedy is surprisingly... comedic, for a slice-of-life. Not the funniest shit I've ever seen but it does puts a smile on my face (ugh). Half of the manga is actually quite comedic, and keeps me reading. It's definitely in the comedy category more than slice-of-life, so if you're not a fan of SOL, don't be afraid to try this one.

Not more to say with so few chapters. But it's promising and could use some attention.

"(...) It's like Slayers were in the Berserk world besides Gundam with the better of nowadays manga style." - Akane89

Warning: This series depicts abuse and violence against adults and childs in a proper weighted way. This means that the abuse and violence isn't romanticized, apologetic, or exists for fanservice purposes, but is depicted as a sickening although common practice in the world. If you are too sensitive to this kind of content, I can't recommend this series to you.

First of all, I have to say that this manga was random finding for me, pointed out by a meme commentary threw at me by a close friend. I was expecting an ecchi like story, full of naked girls or wearing skimpy clothes, sexism and misogyny, and male villains wanting to r*pe the female protagonist and all the girls that they can put their hands on. And I got surprised in a very good way.

Don't take me wrong: the manga had all this checked in the first volume already. But it was so well done that I'm enjoying it a lot every bit of it. I'm really impressed with the quality of the author's story to wrap everything together in a good way that doesn't disrespect any gender, doesn't insult the reader's intelligence, and doesn't blatantly resort to lazy/hasted development. All at once.

Now, lets go to my score review:

Story:
The author works hard to wraps the genres in a coherent way. The world and the bonded lore seems like a fantasy until now. But it's presented in a logical way that shows very signs of a solid foundation, not blatantly resorting to magical explanations just to put a wanted and not before thought plot device. The other way around happened thought: using logic to explain a former 'magic-like' situation.

The plot is beautifully draw in each chapter, not showing unimportant loops nor being hasted to jump in the action. The goal and the conflict is well established and the plot seems heading to seek it hard, without space to non-guided side-stories in the main-chronology. There is no gratuitous battle or sex until now, and the r*pe has it's proper weight in the story, not being threw as sickening fanservice.

My not 10/10 score is because the structure can't be called original, neither add anything astonishing new until now. It's a beaten structure in some fantasy-like worlds. But the way the author uses it, filling the well known structure with his own mixture is so well done that it's being great to read, and a great example in how to utilize all these elements to tell a story.

Score: 9/10

Art:
I have nothing to complain about the art. It's not an original style. But the author uses it at its best. It's like Slayers were in the Berserk world with Gundam with the better of nowadays manga style. I couldn't ask for more...

The best point for me thought is that the characters are well designed and put in the pages. Yeah, we have naked girls in sexual poses, and the protagonist running with skimpy outfit. But they are not gratuitous forced in ecchi poses and angles just for the eye-candy of the male readers. As a female myself, I have to pay my respect to the author. Everything has it's proper weight again in the plot, even the more sexual of the poses until now...

It's an adult manga, with adult art and adult thematic, drawn by adults to adults, and it's outstanding to see it being well done in this genre.

Score: 10/10

Character:
I'm loving all named characters presented until now. All them has some personalities that aren't simply plain. There is not blatantly stupid characters. Even the minor villains are minimally developed as soon they are presented, and the reader can catch hints of their motivations and makes sense of them in the world.

Of course the bigger weight is upon the main protagonist's shoulders. And she doesn't let it fall.

As in most nowadays action story with a female protagonist, my biggest fear is that she will be a damsel in distress, useless and dependent, or a mary sue, that can solve any situation without breaking a sweat. And again, this manga remembers me of Berserk in the best of ways...

Mashiro isn't used to battles and she acts according, hitting and failing. She fights with her sheer willpower (and yet-not-explained but not overdid physical strenght) of not submit to the oppressive world she find herself in. Mashiro's second greatest ability is adapting her survivalist skills to the new situations she finds herself. She doesn't wait anyone rescue her, as she is the one going to the rescue. And she depends on the abilities and knowledge of other characters that join her.

Her relationship with the guardian robot that gives his name to the story is awesome from the very beginning, and he is another well written character to help her carry the weight. It's delightful see their initial dialogues and how they come to reach in an agreement about their goal differences.

That's another great point about the characters: There is a "good" and "evil" side, but no character is pure "good" or "evil". The author works well in the gray scale. Obviously that the protagonist seems to start in the white extreme and the villains in the black extreme. But very soon we can see their other sides, and how their motivations and the means they resort, as moral or immoral this can be, paint a grey scale.

And my favorite character is Hibana-chan.

Score: 9/10

Enjoyment:
I don't think that I need to be too long here. The Story is well wrapped and develops beautiful in this beginning. The Art is delightful and respectful besides the harsh thematic. And the Characters are captivating from the very start. There is everything for a great enjoyable story. I just hope keeps in this way.

Score: 10/10

I gonna bring updates if as I see necessary as soon as I advance more in the series. Thanks for reading!

Sensei no Shiroi Uso review
Sensei no Shiroi Uso is what Kuzu no Honkai thinks it is.

Before I get into why I've given it a more positive review than the other reviewers have, here's a quick skim through all the reasons this manga sucks: the plot's pace is slow, there's barely any character development (apart from the mcs getting over sexual trauma), there is an inherently misogynistic atmosphere to a lot of this manga (as one of the other reviewers mentioned), and the mc does end up preaching a little bit towards the end. And, to top it off, you get the vibe that Torikai believes society is full of shit, men are scum, and no one really gives a shit about rape.

So, there's plenty of reasons to not read this manga. And, frankly, I can't disagree with any of the points made in the negative reviews of Sensei no Shiroi Uso, nor do I think the majority of readers would enjoy this. Ultimately, this manga focuses on a very sensitive niche: the niche of misery, to both the characters and the reader.

If you read into this manga too deep, you won't like it. If you try to think that it's quietly discussing all the things wrong with society, all these 'hidden societal rules', then you'll end up hating everything it stands for. Instead, read Sensei no Shiroi Uso as something to hit the spot when you want to admire how shit society can be. As I said earlier, Kuzu no Honkai wants what this manga has, and by that I mean a shit ton of rape. The sexual trauma doesn't end with this manga, and, to top it of, the villains don't really pay the penalty for what they do. There genuinely is no 'goodness' in the manga.

Which is great, provided you're a reader who wants to suffer and/or enjoy the suffering of others.

Sensei no Shiroi Uso is great at being fucked up.

Taboo Tattoo review
This manga is ok, but nothing special. I don't regret buying it, but I will be selling it now, as don't feel I need to hold on to it, I won't be re-reading it.

I would tag this with:
- Action
- Dark
- Super Powers

Story: 6/10
To be honest, I liked the story up the point where the anime ended (same story as in the anime, the anime covered about half the manga), and slightly afterwards too. It was interesting, there are some real setbacks, and I like when some of the main characters don't have plot armor. The ending however, was just so bad in my opinion... The main character suddenly becomes capable of doing something super complex after being depicted as your average guy (specifically not being super smart) for the whole manga. Not only that, all his friends all allies decide to bet on that too. I don't want to spoil too much, so I will remain vague, but that was a weird ending... And it wasn't satisfying for me.

Art: 7/10
The art is consistent and good, not great. The backgrounds aren't always very detailed. I honestly don't have much else to say about the art. It doesn't stand out, but it's not bad.

Characters: 7/10
There are a few likeable characters, most notably the female main character and one of her friends, as well as the muscle guy. The main character is cool in that is your typical dumb protagonist, but he doesn't fit the stereotype you expect either. He knows he's not the smartest, nor the greatest, he doesn't have the "never give up and yell about it" attitude and feels very real. I had a positive impression of the characters overall. Some of the villains also had interesting personalities.

Enjoyment: 6/10
I really liked it up to slightly after the anime ends (slightly past halfway through the manga). I like a few of the characters, even felt kind of empathic for some of the villains. The final arc and ending really ruined it for me though.
