Tomogui Kyoushitsu review
Let me start off by saying this manga is not for everyone. There are so many things this manga has:
-R*pe
-P*dophilia
-Lots of death
-All around carnage

My full rating for this a solid 9/10

The first chapter starts off as any other survival game horror manga would. Nothing thrown at you, YET. As the plot progresses in the first chapter, we meet our first game and first death. Now this method of death was insane. By far it was the most unique death I have seen in horror lately. It blew my mind.

The story progresses at a nice pace. While it isn't the most perfect one, it is very consistent. The game doesn't derail. The story doesn't automatically shift into this whole spectacle about the villain and who's to blame. The one thing that does change it is the last chapters where the last few survivors face against this new threat.

What the story does is continue off each chapter like a flowing river. There are no real hang ups. Each character gets a back story (not all, but once you read it, you'll understand). Then, at the end, the true mastermind is not what or who you expect. The one thing I truthfully can confirm is that the deaths truly pack a punch. Some are shocking, while some are more.. well deserved.

All in all, this is one manga that you should read if you can stomach dark themes.

Pros:
-Interesting characters/minor development
-No shortage of pulled punches
it's not the game you think it will be
-The art is pretty nice

Cons:
-The story kind of goes to sh*t in the last few chapters (except the last one)
-Characters feel bland at times
-The new threat felt too rushed and brought in way too late
-The explanation for certain things can be... annoying
-Definitely not the story for you if you can't handle dark themes

Josei Danshi review
As you can read from the preview, this manga is about a boy with girlish voice who went on to sing in a band. Premise is very simple and straightforward. Now I will go into the story a bit.

- Story:
To summarize, it's a story about facing your past trauma with some band club shenanigans. Pochi the protagonist was ridiculed because of his voice and he proceeds to never speak in public since highschool, he met with Ageha who also has an issue with men, but couldn't let go of Pochi's beautiful voice for her band as a vocalist.

Now that sounds like it could be an interesting story, however the way it is executed are beyond cartoonish and borders into the ridiculous territory. Drama keeps popping up left and right when there's absolutely no reason to and there's almost no downtime at all.

Everyone that aren't immediately established to be a nice person are just straight up jerks or a-holes (some of them might get some sort of shallow redemption and realize the error of their ways).
Weirdly enough the story is almost structured in a "monster of the week" format. A drama arises and then a villain will show up for the band to defeat using Pochi's singing voice.

- Art:
There's not much to talk about on the art, it's cute and simple (might even be too simple). If you don't like it then I don't recommend reading this at all.

- Character:
Other than the two main characters, the characters are barely even fleshed out at all. Some of the "villains" might change in some unnatural way just because they heard Pochi singing (which didn't make sense because listening to a good song doesn't suddenly turn jerks into saints).

A strange and noticeable trait in most of the background characters are as I previously mentioned, if they're not a good person then they're straight up a piece of human garbage, there's no middle ground. Hoo boy you can bet that almost every guy that isn't Pochi are either, A. sexual predator, B. a massive idiot, or C. doesn't talk whatsoever.
This can get really annoying when you keep seeing the same kind of people everywhere and almost no variety.

- Summary
Overall it's a pretty painful read and I only give it extra point for the unique premise, but then again you could just read iDOLM@STER Neue Green if you're only here for the "a guy in drag is singing on the stage" thing.

Suspenseful Romance / Dark temptation

orig chapter 22 -> *edit chapter 62

!!Minor or Major spoiler!!
A man and his daughter’s friend… (shhhhh)… you imagine…

Have you wished or ever wish that you can commit an action without thinking about the consequence?
For this, the answer should be yes.
But… why didn’t you or most of you follow through? And why not?
Perhaps, due to social norms and expectations, you decide that committing something risky isn’t worth breaking your tranquility or reputation.

Yet, for this manga, something is different, unusual, and even unsettling. The age gap and violation of social consensus are the elements that create the ambiance of dark temptation.

Story: 7.5
I love the plot of the story. Even though the story itself is relatively simple (-1)(since there is no need for innovative background setup), it is so dark, yet mesmerizing. No law prohibits a man from loving his own daughter’s friend or his own daughter’s friend from loving him; however, as a result of the norms and expectations, this love isn’t right and shouldn’t occur in the first place.

The story flows well, and almost every chapter ends with suspense. Nevertheless, because it is relatively new, -1.5 on potential error (huge deviation on this one as the man’s daughter can cause a huge fluctuation on the story rating). But as for now, the story is actually decent.

Art: 8
Not the best as the background can be bland, and the art style can be a little more detailed and clean. But, it is better than normal for sure and won’t hinder my enjoyment of reading this manga piece.

Characters: 8 or 10
There are three main characters in this story + a huge side character
1. [Dad]
Not-so-perfect dad who didn’t know how to deal with his familial situations, and a workaholic who turned out to be extremely stressed about his job
2. [Daughter]
Had to endure with her mother’s death and deal with dad’s “seemingly apathetic” attitude.
3. [Daughter’s friend]
Forced to be her mother’s version of a “perfect” daughter. A caged bird that want to be free.
4. THE side character -> [Daughter’s friend’s mom]
Basically a near-exact replica of the mom from “Chi no Wadachi”…

The characters do have backgrounds and motives that cause them to act a certain way. As the story goes on, the mangaka is able to add on more layers on top of the characters. Yet, there can still be fluctuations as there will be more side characters come into play so I will give it a conservative 8 for this category.

Enjoyment: 10 -> 6
I finished 22 chapters immediately without hesitation. Literally felt goosebumps and wanted to shout “Holy S**T” at the end of every chapter.

*Unsatisfied ending drops the score by a lot

Overall: 8.5 -> 7
Personally, this is a must-follow on my manga list. Period. However, I understand that this manga is not suitable for all the manga readers since it is completely going to fend off the readers who are conservative.

This will not be a mainstream manga, and it is impossible to get an animation adaptation out of this due to its theme.

HOWEVER, this manga is special for readers who love this particular niche or category (the scandalous or the dark side of society).

Having followed this manga since the very beginning, it is sad that middle-to-end story line and the ending didn't match up with the hype of the beginning. Perhaps, due to controversies coming from the Japanese society's perception toward this manga (as expected), I personally feel that the mangaka just couldn't dish out the story that he originally wanted. Everything in the end feel a bit too predictable, which is drastically different from the original reading experience. Also, the open-ended finish of this manga definitely shows that it is up to us to decide what will happen to them, which means that it will generate less controversies since one sided conclusion will garner polarized opinions (extremely uncharacteristic of how I feel when I started reading this manga due to the fact that this manga is trying to show the society of what if things don't go as planned)

Fantastic start. Great Beginning to mid. Predictable and dull mid to end. Unsatisfied and disappointing ending. I will give it a 7

Crying Freeman review
This manga is hard to get into, in that the main character is really difficult to sympathize with or get invested into. His basic premise of an assassin that doesn't actually want to kill works and as far as that went it was a reasonably strong story. But from there, he somehow becomes the head of the organization that kidnapped him in the first place, who were first portrayed as the villains, but they suddenly become the side the reader is supposed to be on the side of, with no justification given for why the reader should suddenly sympathize with them over any of their opponents. This is compounded by the fact that Freeman, as well as most of his companions, have very little character. The protagonist being a blank slate can work if the people surrounding them have strong characters that push them along, but here that wasn't the case. Rather, he's a character completely lacking personality and with no clear motivations or goals beyond the immediate situation he's in, but still the one pushing the plot somehow most of the time. This combined with the fact that there isn't really much of an overarching narrative, results in a story that doesn't really have much substance at all and is essentially pointless. The manga does have its strong points though, in that while Freeman may not have much of a character that's interesting or easy to sympathize with, the way he handles situations is interesting and pretty cool. What I mean by that is that while it really doesn't matter why he's doing any of what he's doing or who he is at all really, the actions he takes that make up each of the individual stories that make up the larger story are all pretty interesting. He dealt with opponents in ways that often had him being clearly overpowered, but in the end still looked pretty cool and were pretty varied, with strong action and a good sense of style, and that in a way can hold up the manga reasonably. The art was strange, in that it clearly had a lot of effort put into it, but it looked pretty bad to me with the shots that were supposedly meant to be eye catchers often being the worst of the lot, but it was something I got used to eventually.

tl;dr: A manga that's lacking substance overall but has a decent amount of good moments.

Densetsu no Yuusha no Konkatsu review
tl;dr: An interesting concept implemented pretty well though a bit messy in the beginning and end.

This manga has a pretty unique premise and uses it pretty well. It starts off a bit slowly, wherein the chapters mostly repeat a per chapter loop of him interacting with women in a strange way due to his background as a hero, resulting in them not liking him, but then him impressing them with something related to him being a hero, but moving on because then it would be impossible for them to like him for him. This is pretty amusing considering how repetitive each instance was, but didn’t have any depth at all to it. The structure changes tremendously about a third of the way through however, wherein it begins having much longer stories. These stories rather than having mostly one dimensional heroines develop the heroines and a few side characters really well, wherein their motivations and lives are fleshed out very well. Naturally, this also results in the relationship between the hero and heroine feeling much more real, as well as the hero himself feeling much more fleshed out as well and also going through some solid character development, and wherein before he just seemed like a quirky guy you’re kind of rooting for, here he actually begins to feel like a genuinely good guy you’re wishing the best for. The humor from before is still present here and there are a lot of amusing moments, but beyond that these stories are well written, with emotions coming across very well and key moments having a lot of impact, with each story having both strong happy and sad moments. The final arc was sort of messy in that it seemed to be trying too hard to be more than the stories that came before it as a story worthy of being the final one, but largely I think it did a pretty good job and I was very satisfied with the ending. The art was pretty good and I think the framing of key emotional moments was especially really good.
