Резюме
High school girl Mio Omori comes from a poor background. Life is hard enough for Mio, whose mother, an ailing widow, is getting treatment at a hospital. With the younger brother, Hinata, being a school student, Mio has to work part-time jobs to support her family. Her life gets even more complicated when a rough young man, Shoei Jinnai, throws money at her and steals her first kiss, claiming to have bought her.
Yokujou Climax is a romance that showcases the love-hate relationship between Mio and Shoei. Mio realizes that there's more to the guy than it seems, and gains new insight about her own and other people's lives.

Yokujou Climax review
Story: It definitely had a twist in it that you do see very often, and that probably had to be the best part of the whole manga. I like surprises, so to me, it was a pretty interesting twist to the story.
Art: The art was absolutely dreadful--In my opinion. Art is subjective, and this is merely my opinion, but I simply did not like the art. I really think they could've done better, but it's still decent. Character: Shoei is a very...interesting character. He's your typical Prince-like character with a hidden agenda. To everyone he's this nice, popular guy but when he and Mio are alone, let's just say he becomes a whole new person. Mio's character really annoyed me, honestly. The manga was rather disappointing and I was hoping the heroine would have a more interesting, unique character. But sadly, she's just your typical Shoujo one. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does get boring after a while...) Enjoyment: It was alright. I enjoyed it more towards the ending, when things actually got a bit more interesting and it wasn't all about the smut. Overall, I'd give it a 5 just because I did enjoy it at some parts, but not enough to ever recommend it to a friend or ever re-read it. |
Yokujou Climax review
I have never written a review on MAL before, but I felt so betrayed by this work that I couldn't stop myself. I can't overstate how much I dislike this manga. I truly don't understand how it has the rating it does. Maybe other readers enjoy the constant aggressive sexual assault to the main character and the way she seems to not notice everyone around her is manipulating her at every turn. Seriously, all her "family" and friends do is lie to her and trap her. If I were her, I would have called the police, and failing that, moved to a different country, just
to get rid of those nasty people. Please, don't read this, and if you do, don't pretend the story is good or that the characters are in any way respectable or even realistic... The only reason I finished this manga is I have a bad habit of finishing every single thing I read, no matter how bad. I will never again pick up another of this mangaka's works for the fear of being trapped in another such nightmarish reading experience.

Yokujou Climax review
Desire Climax is a Shoujo, Smut, Romance, Drama manga that initially feels like all the typical smutty manga I have encountered but it ends up having a remarkably in-depth story. It’s a shame that the story becomes really messed up, later on.
Mio Omori is a high school girl who’s supporting her destitute family but her current job barely covers the basic living expenses. In need of some money, she receives the offer of being the maid for her extremely rich landlord however the son (Shoei Jinnai) happens to have an ulterior motive to her working there. In the beginning I was like “what the heck!” as the set-up just seemed rather cliché and unrealistic. However what initially felt like a simple ‘hates him but falls in love with him’ story actually developed into something more, with some dramatic plot twists and surprising developments. Just like how the story develops into something remarkable, so do the characters. Unlike the usual dim-witted shoujo heroines, Mio is a caring, capable girl and sadly she can be a little easy to take advantage of; on the other hand Shoei (a.k.a. Prince Junnai) is still the typical two-faced guy that only shows his true self towards our heroine. However these two happen to have a troubled past together, which is what makes the romance between them fascinating. As for the supporting characters, they do a good job in actually supporting the story, by making their own mark and being the source of some surprises. What also does a good job in supporting the story is the artwork for this manga, which can be described as exquisite. The individual characters look well-drawn, with nice defined features and you can tell that the mangaka put some effort into them, as well as the background environment. Overall Desire Climax, started off as an interesting shoujo manga with some elements of comedy scattered throughout. Not to forget this is mostly a dramatic romance, with an unnecessary amount of randomly placed smutty moments. Though halfway through, matters become far too complicated, as the story goes off on tangent moving unto some ridiculous matters (e.g. love affairs). Knowing this, it’s really just about asking yourself; whether this is the type of shoujo manga you’re looking for. *Be warned, there's A LOT of sexual content.* ^_^ |
Yokujou Climax review
A pretty typical shoujo/smut manga. But there actually ends up being a pretty deep stroyline - interesting character relationships, motivations, plot... Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of romantic drama for no reason at all, but it's still incredibly fun to read.
The art is very well done, nothing extraordinary, but very nice to look at. One thing that does deserve special mention, though, are the eyes - this manga has the prettiest-drawn eyes I have ever seen. Really gorgeous and really share a lot of emotion. Overall, read this manga if you like shoujo/smut, it'll be perfect for you. It'll even have plotlines and interesting character developments that take you by surprise, so it's a lot a fun! |

Desire Climax is very interesting. I will try not to say anything that will spoil it but the main character(mio omori) is bit irritating when it comes to the ending. A lot of stuff happens and you think one thing is finally over but then a new problem seems to just pop out(like a pimple!). I thought the storyline was enjoyable with a lot of drama involved. The art is pretty good(just the guys lips that get me annoyed) and it looks great colored(*cough* *cough* anime...) lol. Well annyway, you'll end up liking the manga :D

Yokujou Climax review
I have been reading a lot of romance mangas recently, some good and some bad. I have began to notice tropes that get used time and time again. I imagine that someone wanting to read this will probably be in the same position as I was: familiar with the subject matter. Therefor I am not going to break down the entire romance genre or its pros and cons in story telling. I instead want to focus on what this manga does within that genre to make it stand out.
Firstly, the characters aren't too bad. A constant problem that a lot of romance mangas seem to have is that the female lead doesn't have a personality or life of her own. Our female lead here does need constant saving, but at the same time she is capable of independent thoughts. She does make decisions, which is nice to see. The male leads are pretty typical, with many of them being asses. However I felt that most of the characters still had enough of a back story to make the reader care about them. There were times when a back story would be brought up only to be dropped again and that disappointed me because there were several times where character development could have happened. Enough of the analyzation of characters. The plot is what matters here...and man is it dramatic! I loved it. I couldn't stop reading this manga and finished it in about 2 days (during finals week even). The handling of the story is what makes the characters shine and it really has a life to it. You can tell it was meant to entertain and keep you guessing. This manga has a ton of romance tropes, but that is to be expected. The handling of said tropes is what makes this manga such a joy to read. |
Yokujou Climax review
This manga is really interesting, the story take all the time unexpected turns. There are a lot of weird scenes in it, like in the works of Mayu Shinjo. So i think if you like these kind of stories (poor Girl and rich Boy, who has a lot of power), this manga is good for you. Different from the most works of Mayu Shinjo, in which the main girl character is not so strong, here the girl is really strong. She fight for that what she want and this is what I truly liked at this story! Additional you can see that the characters
are development and not stand still.

Yokujou Climax review
The art in this series was incredible, but it doesn't really make up for the plot. It's very difficult to understand why characters act they way they do because the author jumps from one idea to another very quickly, and doesn't really give enough background on the characters. I'm not sure if the author was attempting to make the story more mysterious and thrilling, but it didn't really work.
Also, because of this lack of content, certain important plot twists passed too quickly making most of the story seem to be about the Prince pushing himself onto Mio. Furthermore, the romances and trysts weren't always engaging and believable (which should be important if that's the focus of the story). In fact, there were numerous times when they were downright awkward. Overall, it's not something I would really recommend unless you're bored and horny. |
Yokujou Climax review
I like to indulge in some smut now and then so i decided to give it a read. It had your usual semi-rape scenes with girl squealing, and then it turned into something more interesting with a deeper story line. Unfortunately the direction of this story line went to the bin with her brother being in love with her, in the end the story lost itself completely. It turned from something which could possibly have been a cute story to convoluted nonsense.
Nonetheless it is readable, and i would recommend you read it if you have nothing better to read. |
