Tanjirou Kamado lives with his impoverished family on a remote mountain. As the oldest sibling, he took upon the responsibility of ensuring his family's livelihood after the death of his father. On a cold winter day, he goes down to the local village in order to sell some charcoal. As dusk falls, he is forced to spend the night in the house of a curious man who cautions him of strange creatures that roam the night: malevolent demons who crave human flesh.

When he finally makes his way home, Tanjirou's worst nightmare comes true. His entire family has been brutally slaughtered with the sole exception of his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a flesh-eating demon. Engulfed in hatred and despair, Tanjirou desperately tries to stop Nezuko from attacking other people, setting out on a journey to avenge his family and find a way to turn his beloved sister back into a human.

{ My goal is to write reviews that don't take much time to read, yet get the point across, as well as being as spoiler-free as possible. Please be assured that you will learn nothing you can't already read in the synopsis unless mentioned priorly }

Breath-taking, marvellous, impeccable manga. No matter how hard I try to see any hint of imperfections I cannot.

For starters, the story. The plot had all sorts of twists and turns. I couldn't stop reading it once I got through the bit I had watched in the anime. You laugh, cry, and rage all at once. The events flow together and come as one. All the heart-wrenching moments and many many tears made it incredible in so many ways.

The art is divine. The backgrounds are jaw-dropping. Everything is so wonderfully illustrated it's hard to believe its real. When characters would bend their bodies in all sorts of ways, Koyoharu Goutouge somehow manages to still make it look amazing. The art style was stunning, differing from typical manga style yet still staying true to its roots as well. I loved how the eyes looked and the details that were put into every single frame.

The characters, what can I say. All their personalities were unique and varied. I loved how much of a dumbass Insouke was and how not all the demon slayers were "I wanna kill all demons" (Zenitsu) it brings the diversity into Kimetsu no Yaiba as a whole. The stories of each of the characters had me in tears basically the whole time I was reading it. For better or for worse they made the characters realistic. ex: a guy lost his eye and arm so he had to retire, instead of magical recovery after a day and some characters die, but like die die. Once they're gone, they're gone. You get attached to the characters the more you read about it, which yes, makes it more painful when they die, but adds more to the depth of it all.

So lemme say something real quick, all these haters out there don't listen to them. In reality, Kimetsu no Yaiba is (in my opinion) THE best manga and anime there is out there. Especially the manga, the anime is without a doubt extraordinary as well, but the manga brings in so many more levels of emotions.
An absolutely astonishing story, my respect to Koyoharu and GET READING!!!

Sorry, this review was so long, I just love KNY too much.

First off the synopsis "A family is attacked by demons and only two members survive - Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, who is turning into a demon slowly. Tanjiro sets out to become a demon slayer to avenge his family and cure his sister. ... Demon Slayer focuses on Tanjirou Kamado, who is still very young, but is the only man in his family.".

As many of you know the first 50 chapters have already been adapted in anime so i recommend that you first watch the anime, That said if you haven't watched the anime, i highly suggest you do if you want a great experience. With that out of the way i can now finally talk about the manga

Demon Slayer (Also known as Kimetsu no Yaiba) is set in the 1910's. Areas where stuff happens, is in somewhere between the urban cities and mountains

After the anime, you have to start in chapter 54 which is where the movie starts.

As someone who likes shounen anime, i find Demon Slayer one of, if not the best shounen anime to read/watch. If you're someone who enjoys action and shounen anime this is for you.

So. Should you watch/read Demon Slayer? Short answer, Y E S. Every single page is filled with love and dedication from the author and the comedy bits make you laugh at the top of you're lungs

However, the manga has some shortcomings. For instance there are some plot points that just don't get explored as much as others, and some characters don't get as much screen time as others.

But, don't stop these shortcomings from holding you back from reading this manga. I promise you it'll be worth while
