Резюме
Hidden in plain sight, an age-old conflict rages on. Supernatural monsters known as "Curses" terrorize humanity from the shadows, and powerful humans known as "Jujutsu" sorcerers use mystical arts to exterminate them. When high school student Yuuji Itadori finds a dried-up finger of the legendary Curse Sukuna Ryoumen, he suddenly finds himself joining this bloody conflict.
Attacked by a Curse attracted to the finger's power, Yuuji makes a reckless decision to protect himself, gaining the power to combat Curses in the process but also unwittingly unleashing the malicious Sukuna into the world once more. Though Yuuji can control and confine Sukuna to his own body, the Jujutsu world classifies Yuuji as a dangerous, high-level Curse who must be exterminated.
Detained and sentenced to death, Yuuji meets Satoru Gojou—a teacher at Jujutsu High School—who explains that despite his imminent execution, there is an alternative for him. Being a rare vessel to Sukuna, if Yuuji were to die, then Sukuna would perish too. Therefore, if Yuuji were to consume the many other remnants of Sukuna, then Yuuji's subsequent execution would truly eradicate the malicious demon. Taking up this chance to make the world safer and live his life for a little longer, Yuuji enrolls in Jujutsu High, jumping headfirst into a harsh and unforgiving battlefield.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
for real its been a while since I have gotten so into a shonen, I binged the whole manga (well whatever out right now), and I still cant get enough. I think if the anime keeos up the gud work it may end up being of the great shonen out there alongside the top ones
. the story is so well crafted but more than that its the characters, the design is great but every character ha so much depth and even with the over power characters they are just done so well, u cant not love them. also the humour is top class, a shonen with such gud humour that makes me laugh out loud is rare!! |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
At the time of writing this review, there are only 12 chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen translated. Due to the low number of chapters, my scores will be closer to a 5 (average) because there's really not much a series can do within the first 12 chapters to stand out significantly in any of these categories. As with most of my reviews I'll try to update them once more chapters have been released, provided the series doesn't get axed by Jump & translations are released.
Story: 6/10 As expected, there isn't a ton to the story yet. Only 12 chapters are released at the time I'm writing this review, so there haven't been any very significant arcs in the story yet. However, what has happened is (mostly) well presented. Similar to most series in Jump, things start off very quickly and the first few chapters are taken at a very quick pace. There is so far one relatively significant arc (4 chapters long, 6 to 9) and there have been relevant major antagonists and protagonists introduced, which is a good sign this early on. That being said, I think the best part of the plot so far is that the main character has been given a very clearly defined goal. It's one of the best signs of a well thought out shonen battle manga: the successful ones tend to tell you the main character's goal early on (Luffy wants to find the One Piece, Naruto wants to become the Hokage etc.). Even better is the fact that the goal in this case is a bit gruesome, which is typically not the case with Jump manga and helps separate this series from its counterparts. Currently I would consider the story to be a 6/10, leaning towards 7/10 if it continues like this for the next few chapters. Art: 6/10 I find it difficult to separate "good" and "great" art a lot of the time, and it's even harder to do that when there have been so few chapters released and translated. Generally though the art in this series is about at the level I'd expect, with the odd panel looking very well detailed. Character: 5/10 Again, it's difficult to rate how well the characters have been done seeing as there are so few chapters out. What has been done so far is reasonably good, but not stellar. The main character does have well explained motives, but I find some of the side characters that have fallen flat or generally just been average. I'll probably come to like them more given some time, but at this point one of them have really stood out to me as particularly well written (or poorly written for that matter). Enjoyment: 5/10 I've read a lot of shonen manga, and so far this seems like a somewhat standard one. It's entertaining at times, but I do feel like it'll take a while before I truely begin to enjoy it. I can't give this any higher than a 5 currently because there hasn't been a lot about this series that has stood out to me yet, but I'm sure if it's given enough time in Jump then the series will be able to stand out from the other titles. Overall: 5.5/10 (rounded to a 6) Jujutsu Kaisen is a pretty straightforward shonen battle series, and as with all of these series it's hard to judge how good it is when it hasn't gone through a major arc. It does seem like the Japanese audience likes it (Volume 1 apparently got a reprint already, and it's only been available for a week) so I'm sure this series will be able to survive, at least for the forseeable future. |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
It's overall just a really okay manga. It's not bad by any means, but I don't have a particular thing that I like about it aside from this one thing I'll get at later.
The story introduces interesting concepts in terms of its powers. I like when each character gets a fighting style unique to them. It makes their fights all the more interesting, at least in terms of visuals. Up until this point, the story was pretty okay too, but I have a hunch that after this arc ends, the quality will really rise, so I'm holding out on that hope. The art is alright. It looks like shounen manga art. It's cool, but it's pretty much average to above average for me. I don't particularly care for many characters. The one character I do genuinely care about, though, is the main character. I think the main character has the most interesting conflict in the entire series. He's pretty generic as far as the design and personality of a male lead go, but I am really interested in how he'll grow more than I am anybody else in the manga. When I said that I care about one thing, that thing is how Yuji will proceed in the plot. He carries my entire enjoyment of this manga. He's funny, he's endearing, he's compelling. It's a pleasant surprise given that I didn't have many hopes for him. However, from there, I can genuinely say I do not care at all about the fate of anybody else whether it be an ally or an enemy. I could not care less about his classmates or his mentors which is an unpopular opinion given how people think the mentor is the best part of the series. The female lead is mildly interesting. The story is really heavily setting up a plot surrounding Yuji's quiet, dark-haired companion which again, I really could not care less about compared to how much I'm interested in Yuji and Sukuna's whole thing. My enjoyment only started picking up recently. Before this arc, I was pretty much reading just to catch up before the anime aired. Overall, it's a 7. I see potential, but I know it won't be realized for at least a year. |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
Although I haven't read to the latest chapter, I feel I have enough info to write a review. The story and characters was actually pretty fleshed out, but after the first big arc (or second) ended (Origin of Obedience), I felt that the entire backstory for the supporting main characters was not needed (I actually skipped most of it). I do know that if I read the backstory arc, I would sympathize with the characters more, but it just irked me how even before Origin of Obedience and even more so after, the main character was not a main part of the story. The creator
of this manga seems like someone who puts an importance on the small aspects of a picture, and not the big picture. It would have been nice to see more about Yuji and how he goes about his day with Sakuna, or if we could have seen Yuji just go all out in a battle once. I hope later on in the story, one of the two sides gives Yuji and Sakuna all of the fingers so that we can see how powerful Sakuna really is.

Jujutsu Kaisen review
This manga may seem like a generic shonen at the start but it is not like that. It starts slowly, but it's entertaining. Chapters between 30 and 50 (Tokyo vs Kyoto arc) are kinda ass and boring. After that comes Gojo past arc which is really enjoable with some badass fights and completes Gojo as a character. After that arc comes Shibuya incident arc. This one reminds me of Chimera Ant arc from HxH, but i like Shibuya more. This arc changes everything, manga changes drastically, many deaths and emotional moments happened. This is the best arc so far. Manga just gets better and better
and chapters come out often. I recommed this manga even though i am not really into new shonen jumps

Jujutsu Kaisen review
Jujutsu kaisen is kinda the more serious cousin of chainsaw man with the probably most enjoying Story (besides cahinsaw man and aot) in all anime history. The character are just fire! Gojo as the most overpowered Character in a series since Saitama having the most joyful expressions on his face is ironic. Yuji as the mc is really good his character really evolved in a good direction through the 140 Chapters. The Side Characters are also really enjoyable BUT(T) if you read the manga or watch the anime you will probably have your focus on Gojo because hes just.... yk Gojo. That doesn't mean that
the other Characters are bad it just means that Gojo is too good for his own good haha..
Anyways the Art is beautiful but it seems in the last few chapters that the Art is more.. Rushed? They seem more like Sketches now but that is totally fine in my opinion because I think it suits the storyline. The reason why I gave it a 9/10 is just because the manga is not finished yet so who knows maybe it will be a ten soon.. |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
Look take every review on here with a grain of salt because while I absolutely love this manga it is still ongoing so it can both get better or get worse. Moving on from that, like the majority of stories that are past this point of technical skill how much you like this depends upon personal taste. The art style is very good, the characters are interesting, the pacing is great and the writing is snappy.
Like I said once a story covers all its bases on skill, it depends on the reader's preference. Because I can see some people who come to shonen jump looking for fresh new series being disappointed on finding a new fresh series that unfortunately (for them) still a shonen series. Most of the complaints I see seem to me that they just don't like this type of story. I mean I liked this more than fire force, and more than MHA too so far. I don't think its quite up there with haikyuu but its good. For me personally, I did not have a single complaint with this series, 128 chapters in, it is going strong. This is personally a 10 for me. If you are a fan of MHA, Fire force or any of the new shonen titles please do give this a try. Who knows maybe you might enjoy it as much as I do. |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
Ignore all the reviews from those who have read like 30 odd chapters or such.
I wont lie, it starts out slow and was only an 8/10 for me. but this manga can only be described as epic. It's almost like a case study of all popular shounens, but it only takes the best aspects of them. The story is also very well-crafted and flows very well. The character's are perhaps this story's strong part, which is why I find it odd to see people giving it a score of 5/10. There is no typical shounen hero, the mc's feel doubt, feel pain, and often struggle. You also see the line between good and evil constantly blurred. the weakest part is probably the art, which is simply put 'good' Story: 10 Art;8 Character:10 Enjoyment:10 Overall:9 |
Jujutsu Kaisen review
No Spoilers Ahead
Introduction: Now when I heard that a new Shonen Jump manga was getting an anime I immediately though “Ahhh shii here we go again” and immediately compared it to Naruto after reading the description ,but after reading it, it became apparent that it was anything but that. Jujutsu Kaisen definitely has its own identity and is very different from the run of the mill generic Shonen and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Shonen. After reading the Manga it became one of my favourites of all time and watching the anime has been a treat too - and I believe it could be one of the biggest shows of this decade. Story: The story goes as follow - Yuji eats a finger and it just happens to be the king of curses, The jujutsu world sees him as a Danger to humanity and sentences him to death but before that he is allowed the chance to collect all the fingers of Sukuna then die - saving the world in the process. Artwork: Gege Akutami’s artwork is very rough round the edges and at first can be hard to get into like Chainsaw Man however that does not stop the art from being beautiful and extremely detailed. The fights are easy to follow and very well done and the choreography is top tier, and all the attacks and techniques have their unique look which look amazing (especially Gojou’s attacks). Speaking of Gojo , the character the designs and outfit design are good giving off a unique vibe to each character and keeping the artwork and characters fresh. However, I do see how the artwork can be a turn off for some people looking to get into this manga - but after about 10 chapters you will not even notice it. Pacing: The pacing is extremely fast paced , at first I thought it was too fast paced but it definitely slows down in later arcs becoming a lot better in my opinion .However we don't stay in the school setting to long and waste time(like in Bleach) . Not much to say here except its really good. Characters: Yuji Itadori: Yuji is just so GODDAMN LIKABLE like how can you hate him? His personality is pretty much the same as most Shonen protagonists except he does not scream his ideology or goal every 10 seconds(Asta/Naruto). His character getting his ideology challenged in different ways is intriguing and watching him grow as a character is good as well. He is not just a cardboard cut-out of a character and is unique. Megumi Fushiguro: Out of the 4 main characters(Yuji , Gojo, Nobara) he isn't my favourite as all of the others outshine him by A LOT, especially Gojo , but that doesn't mean that I don't like him he's a good enjoyable character. But he only really shines when with other characters . His past is quite interesting when later discovered in the manga and his family is one of the coolest families in the series .However he has one thing , his abilities on the coolness metre , are only second to Gojo in my book. Nobara Kugisaki: She is a treat to watch and her personality shines 2nd out of the main four just after Gojo IMO .She is also actually able to fight and isn't the typical helpless Shonen girl who just cries for help (Sakura) and isn't and annoying Tsundere who just abuses the MC(Noelle). Satrou Gojo: Definitely the favourite character of the whole series and for good reason too his personality is great , his design is great , his powers are great and his ambitions are great to. It’s interesting to see him struggle with being the strongest Shaman and having to bear the responsibility that if he dies the order of the world will collapse and how he prepares the future generations for it - which we don't see often in Shonen and I wish we did with other stories like Naruto. Spin-Offs: Jujutsu Kaisen has one prequel manga and two spin-off Light Novels however these have no English translation or fan translation available so have to skip these if you don't speak Japanese . They aren't necessary to read , however it’s a different story with the prequel manga. The prequel manga is good and is a good introduction to the characters and world of Jujutsu Kaisen, and although it isn’t necessary right now it is canon and due to recent chapter it might become necessary to read to understand the story in the future. Also Yuta (the MC of the prequel has been name dropped many times by Gojo and Fushiguro and the 2nd year studenets) Conclusion: I highly recommend this manga it's one of the biggest serializing manga out right now and the anime adaptation is a good place to start - its animation and all that shiz is amazing. So whichever version of Jujutsu Kaisen you jump into make sure that you start soon! Also listen to the anime opening cos that shii slaps |
